Born in Montreal in 1965, Normand PRIMEAU got into photography while he was working in the fields of sales, advertising and information technology with large corporations. A New York Institute of Photography graduate since June 2005, he permanently moved to Saint-Paul de Vence (French Riviera, France) in 2010 where he had met his wife a couple years before.Normand is a passionate and a perfectionist, always amazed by the people he meets, the places he visits and the things he sees. Enriched by his past experiences, he believes the French Riviera is for him a tremendous opportunity to discover new horizons. His photos are full of contrast, simplicity and unpretentious, always uncluttered and truthful to their subjects. Normand is often seen in Saint-Paul de Vence equipped with his inseparable Leica camera. Having a passion for travel and photography, he spends a lot of time visiting and discovering new places and working on photographic projects like "Le Petit Carnet" (scheduled for release in April 2013), workflow process and fine art printing work. Self-described as a "geek-artist", he knows all the tools (hardware and software) necessary for taking, editing and producing fine art prints. From taking pictures with state of the art digital cameras to handcrafting print documents, sketches and portfolios. There is nothing like the feeling of shooting with a Leica M camera and touching a sheet of RAG or Baryta fine art and photographic paper. As a photographer, the whole process of developing a digital file onto a final print and frame it is an wonderful experience and accomplishment.
Let's hope it gets good ones soon!
